Consider this. Whichever you choose, you will be wanting to see a movie one day and it won't be available on your format.

Right now, about 70% of titles are available on Bluray and 30% on HD-DVD. Some are available on both, but not many.

Do yourself a favor and get something that plays both, or get two players. Then you will be able to choose between 100% of the available content, and you won't care who wins the format war.

I use a BH-100 LG dual player and I have an HP PC with a Toshiba dual player inside. Both work well!

Blu-Ray has the better technology but their players are very expensive. As a matter of fact the PS3 is the cheapest blu-ray player on the market. Blu-ray players cost at a min. of 700 dollars. i think that DVDs on an HDTV are just fine..but since you want a blu-ray or a HD-DVD id say get the HD-DVD

Blue-Ray for $200 bucks will be sold at Wal-Mart by Funai. HD Player is about equal. Just to let you know a lot of them are going to move towards Blue-Ray.
