I have a PS3 and got an HDMI cable that i connected to my Hitachi tv. I want to play the sound through my sony surround sound system. There is not a connection for an HDMI cable in the surrond sound system. How do you make the sound from my ps3 go through my surround sound system?

A second option is to use the optical or coaxial digital output from the TV set to connect to your Sony receiver.

This would give you the added option of hearing anything playing on your TV over your surround system.

Use an optical cable from the PS3 to the amplifier. That way you get the HD picture with the quality sound. All you will need to do is turn your tv onto the correct input (HDMI) and change your amplifier to the optical selection. Hope this helps
