There is a guy that I have had dinner with out the past few months. He called me out of town Christmas Day to wish me a merry christmas which was nice. We are friends though. To my knowledge we have gone out as friends.

It could mean anything.... there are two options here... he could like you as a special friend and he could just have been thinking of you!!! Like I said you can look at it in different angles; although it is best for you not to over think the situation.. Relax and think positive!!!
All the best

You have a friend with whom you have had dinner in the past few months who called you from out of town to wish you a merry x-mas, a nice gesture that is typical of friends. There is nothing here that suggests a romance or a romantic intent and as sure means nothing. Unless you know something you have not mentioned here in your piece for our benefit.

please think possitively and he may call you to discuss about future. i think you are a child. what for he called. he won't do anything wrong, because your cooperation in all respects is a must. you seems to be a good one. go with hi. if you feel anything wrong, and even it is against your wish, better back and no need for friendship. Freindship is not for skin.
