I recieved i missed call from a random number, while i was at work. So the next day i called twice( from my mums phone) to see who it was, no answer!
The next day i get a text asking whos this? So i text back saying: I should be asking you the same question, i had a missed call the other night, and i said who i was and i asked who are u? So he text back sayin sorry i thought u called me cause i didnt have this number before. So then i text from my phone, sayin yea u did call me from this number, and whats ur name? the person said sorry for bothering me and it was maybe a wrong number, so then i text back well have a happy new year who ever u are, wish u would tell me your name. He text back sayin, i find it best to keep it mysterious have a great year all the best.
Then found out going through my mates phone it was my ex's number, he obviously changed his number, but he rang me, then didnt wanna say who he was. Why did he ring me in the first place? We havent spoke in 5 months.

We were together for 2 years and our relationship ended in quite bad terms. Not even 2 weeks after us breaking up we was hooking up with his current gf. He knew i still had feelings for him. He still has no clue that i know its him. Do you think he was maybe drunk and missed me so he phoned me and now regrets it?

Yes your reply was good.
You were both together for 2 years, thats a long time.
Even though he seemed to have moved on and got him self a new squeeze, doesnt mean he loves her. He probably felt suffocated in the relationship and broke up with you, and to deal with his pain, asked out the first airhead that said yes to him.
He maybe misses you and still has feelings for you, thats why he rang you, but then chickened out thinking it might not be a good idea.
For now i think you should stop worrying about him, and move on with your life, go out with your buddies, meet new people, flirt with stangers, You sound young, so make the most of it. If it was meant to be with him, he'll come back.
For now think about you, and what you want to do with your life. Best of luck.

He probably had a thought of you that moment and missed you so decided to give you a call, which you misssed. After that he probably felt unsure whether it was a good idea to call you after all, cause he weren't sure how you would react to him calling you after 5 months, thus hid his identity. Just let it past, if he calls you again then you can decide if you want him back in your life...Gd Luck.

Why does your "mate" have your ex's number...or does mate mean something different for you? The only way to know why your ex called you, is to ask, which you did and it got you nowhere, so just let it go.

A human statue made of living stone
A paradox etched in human bone
If you could SEE behind his thin disguise
There`s a hidden glint of madness in his eyes.

Many men are fooled by his smile
His superficial grace his charm his style
Sardonicus is everybody`s Friend
Sardonicus keeps smiling to the end.

I think he may of hit a bit of a low at Christmas and was looking thru his little black book for who he could maybe hook up with for a quicky.
you will know if it is more than that if any thing more happens.

many of things, he feels guilty, he is lonely, he has been dumped, may just want to take advantage of you. depends on what kind of person he is. as only you can judge this.

tread carefully and think if you really want him back in your life again, or have you been happier and will be happier without him. :-)
