Try looking under it's alternate name Leadbeater's cockatoo as well. They are not as common in the pet trade as other species of cockatoo. You may have a bit of a difficult time finding a breeder and they are likely to be fairly expensive. Major Mitchell's cockatoo is native to Australia.

Get them from a BREEDER or RESCUE, not a Pet Store.
They are rare in the Pet Trade, but lately have becoming more common.

They are called "Parrot" not "Parrott," too.. That could be another problem you're having.

Try searching BirdBreeders.com for Major Mitchell's Cockatoos or Leadbeater Cockatoos

I will add that no specie of Parrot (Especially Cockatoos!) make good "pets." They are ALL wild animals and will not change just becuase they were handfed. That only makes them an imprint.

In my experience Major Mitchells are are not much like other cockatoos. Most don't seem to enjoy petting, nothing like any of the white cockatoos. They do tend to be quieter, yes. Not quiet, all parrots are loud and they are no exception. Remember also that ALL parrots will bite at one time or another, it's natural. All parrots can do severe damage to sensitive human flesh. Anyone who tell your different has not has much experience with parrots. I've worked with four of these birds and I hate to say I'm not particularly fond of them. Other than being beautiful, they can be pretty nasty. One had a complete vendetta against me from the first time we met. She would literally chase me or fly at me to bite if she was perched somewhere. One out of the four was sweet, she enjoyed petting while the others didn't. The others were pretty indifferent, they didn't enjoy petting but would let you hold them without attempting to remove your finger at least. I can't say I'd ever want to own one.

Australia.... rare, expensive
However, before you buy a bird from a pet store or breeder, PLEASE consider adopting.... there are thousands of parrots looking to be adopted... you might find a different type you like, or if you hold out, you might find a major mitchell cockatoo. Either way, just because it's up for adoption, doesn't mean it has problems... PLEASE consider adopting and help the birds in need!

I haven't seen many pet major mitchells lately but have seen several breeders for sale. You might contact the people with breeders for sale and see if they have a tame one or if they know where you could get one. Go to this site and search 'mitchell' and recent ads will come up.

Australia, and do a search on them to find breeders.
However be prepared, the price is not cheap.

I will add that they are more of a collectors bird--- they are not considered great pets-- as a rule.
