It would have to be an extremely unusual name.
But under normal circumstances, it is not possible.

like grabbing at straws. You need a last name and if you have a ssn will help immensely. Do you have any idea how many people live in a county with the same first name. there are enough with same first and last to make it very difficult to find the right person.

There are actually computer programs available to law enforcement which one can use specific criteria to seek information.

In my state, for instance, a database is available to obtain information through DMV. You can insert specific information to include...yes...just a first name.

The problem...obviously...is how many people share the common names like John, Bob, Mary, Paul, etc.

You can determine the race, sex, first, middle, or last name or even an area of where they reside and go from there!

It's not as easy as 1-2-3, but it IS feasilby possible!

It's possible, but not very probable. Think of all the first names you'd have to go through. And how would you be able to tell if you had the right one with no last name?

It wouldn't make sense to even try. I didn't say that to slam you, it's just a waste of time, IMO.

Usually they use phone numbers, credit card transactions, social security number inquiries, fingerprints or drivers license photo.I know of four other people with my same first and last name. The ONLY difference is location and middle initials. It's also hard to track someone using an alias.Tracing my family tree also brought out misspellings, clerical errors, and several people in adjoining counties with similar names.

Ha, it's hard enough finding a person when you have their first AND last names. There are so many robert foster's in michigan, it's incredible. Narrowing that down would make it impossible!

Try searching for yourself in an online people search, it will show your friends how difficult a first name only search would be!

you couldn't trace some one just by first name and country, thats to vague

example Phillip in England well that narrows it down to how many Phillips in England? Now if you had First name, country, and first name of a child yes it could be possible but still could be incorrect. Example Phillip, Son of Charles who resides in england that would narrow it down further but is not 100%

Can you imagine how many JOHNS you're gonna find in what country. It can never be done!!! You need more than just the 1st name. You can probably fill all of Madison Square Garden with people named John and you wouldn't be any closer than where you started from.
