I asked my insurance that same question. Your dads insurance covers any licensed driver. It's the same for all insurance. Every licensed driver (even without a car) have to be insured. If not when they get into a crash they have to pay the premium up to the date of the crash. So if you just got your license you're fine.
The other car occupants can still sue you if they're cold hearted.

Call the adjuster and speak with them about what happened. It will really depend the language in the policy and how often you drive your dad's car. With out knowing more - I can't give you a definite answer.

does your dad have really good coverage that includes whoever is driving his car? some policies have it where it covers the car and whoever is driving. i am not sure what his policy reads, does he have full coverage? if so, then i am assuming that it will cover at least the other guy. you need to find out what kind of insurance your dad has on his car.

if you had a small insurance company... id tell you you may be screwed.
However, i know from experience Progressive rarely denies claims and you just need to be truthful (because if you dont.. your committing insurance fraud) and you should be fine.
yes, you should have been on the policy and you will now be added... but... progressive is very lenient abuot these things.. so dont freak out.

I'm not sure where you're living, but in England, insurance cover is usually immediate, so you should be covered, so long as your dad put you on his policy before the crash.

Sweetheart, no one here can help, and I am being dead serious. Except for mine, what you will get here are a bunch of smartass answers and guesses. You need to talk to YOUR insurance company immediately.

If it was your dad's car you have nothing to worry about, as it was already covered.
