When a new religion takes the place of an old one, there is inevitably bloodshed. I mean, the proponents of the new religion are trying to convince people to forsake their existing religion. The thing is, the proponents don’t have more proof for the new religion or tangible evidence of any sort, all they have is their word, but in the case of Christianity, they had a book. Wow! A book in an age where 90% of people were illiterate. So they must have used violence, but of course, bloodshed at the start of religion has such dark connotations, so knowledge of it was suppressed wasn’t it?

You are wrong on so many levels.
Why would you think they were 90% illerate? Greek was one of the most highly developed languages in the History of the world, and most people in those days spoke several languages. For some strange reason do you think they couldn't read or write?

Surely you aren't serious about the illiteracy?
I defer to oldguy's answer:

Again, show PROOF that 90% of the world's population was Illiterate in Biblical times. You'are all about Science, logic, statistics, and proof, yet you throw out thse numbers and have no support.....no proof of your allegations.
Put it out there for everyone to see.

oh honey, you sure have got to read a few more books! like the holy book! Read the Acts of the Apostles and you will see that Stephen the Deacon was killed because of his faith in God. you know, even I know that if knowledge was suppressed, I can't know it!
You use big words like 'inevitably' and 'connotation'. And 'a book in an age where 90% were illiterate'. Honey, why do you think they were illiterate? And if you know big words and use them like a club, what good is it being literate?

At first the romans killed off the christians and used them as entertainment in the arenas. Then they started to fight amongst themselves and the earliest followers were killed off. The book came much later. After the romans formed a religion they suppressed all that they did not agree on, and kept on suppressing for the next 1500 years!

In the case of Christianity --if you read the extra-biblical accounts of the early church, people would hear the message and see how the Christians were caring for one another and sharing all their community resources with one another and with the poor, and then became believers.
Again, as I answered in your other ludicrous question, the Christians were not the ones shedding blood, it was the pagan Roman government who felt threatened by the growing numbers of Christians and prosecuted and martyred them.
Historical facts back this up, and once again do not back up your silly and incorrect theory.

The "book" was not around for centuries. What they did have was a (then loosely organized) system of thought that kept the downtrodden from rising up against their masters. Constantine realized the usefulness of such thinking, and here we are today.

The Jewish religion had a book. We call it the Old Testament they called it the Torah. Saul was a Pharisee in the Jewish church and he had Stephen stoned to death and was on his way to Damascus to persecute other followers of Jesus when he had his vision and was converted.

You are joking right? You are aware of the fact that Christianity has the bloodiest history of any religion that ever existed, right? They slaughtered and tortured to death people who wouldn't convert and they burned books and suppressed knowledge. Civilization was throw backwards for hundreds of years because of it.
