The word more than likely comes from Latin which if you notice is how they name and characterize so many things. DIABETES, I'm not sure about the "betes" part but "dia" means some form of the number two. Look it up!

When the pancreas stops working or malfunctions, it no longer processes sugar and everything is sugar. It requires medicine to have any live-a-betis.
It is the same with malfunction of the thyroid glands that causes hypothroidism, if one is going to have any life at all, it requires medicine.

No, no, no! Enough of this PC nonsense pink-ribbon wearing be-happy all the damned time silliness.
Give me some good old-fashioned realism. I can't stand one more cutesy thing. Ugh.

Funny, but sad in a way that you do not recognize the root words that it comes from. Try looking it up in a dictionary.

I guess it's kind of like a DIE-it. Why not call it a LIVE-it?

In Spanish it is pronounced DEE-a-BAY-tays. (that BAY-tays would actually have those upside-down e's in it, I think).
Spanish, the positive choice ; )
