I'm a former flight attendant, different airline have different requirements, some require atleast 2 yrs college, the more languages you can speak the better, some major customer service experience, yes there are some height and weight restrictions they do not decriminate like they did back in my day.. You have to remember airlines are open 365 days a yr 24 hrs a day, so forget your weekends until you build up seniority, also being able to swim is a requirements with airlines that fly over water..Its a much more stressful job now, yes we had weirdos when I flew, but now you have to be able to put up with alot more than just a few drunks. Its not all glamour I flew for a long time, its work believe me, I remember when those carts they push up and down the isles were super heavy and they used real plates and silverware.. All airlines have different requirements, you need to go to each airlines sites for their requirements, hey good luck, no way would I ever go back to it. but it was fun back in the yrs when I flew..

Like the previous lady said in a nutshell it sucks now :-)) I have been in military aviation and I know what is like to deal with people and been a mechanic at the same time. Is not easy and the work hours can be hard to handle, not to mention the time differences.! I always try to lend a hand to the flight attendants, they are real people and they do not need the extra work and I avoid giving them a hard time.
That way I can get the all the coffee I want from the Galley and a good conversation and time will fly faster than the speed of sound ! :-))

The only hard requirement is that you have to be over 21. They also look for people with good personalities, good people skills, ability to memorize information, calm in an emergency, and customer service skills. Looking nice doesn't hurt, but these days they hire all types and ages. The pay isn't great and the job can have long hours and lot's of time away from home. But, you also get days off in a row, and free travel benefits. Good luck.
