For the last few weeks frost and ice have been building up on my heat pump. what is the best way to repair or fix this problem. The heat pump is a coleman DESII Delux.

This is normal during conditions when is it cold and somewhat humid outside. The outside coil is acting like an evaporator and in near freezing outside conditions frost and ice will form from normal operation. The built -in defrost arrangement should correct it. Some are set-up on a timer. However there may be a defect if the defrost has not been working at all. Some units can be equipped with indoor thermostats with a setting to provide for manual activation of defrost.

A no frost frig has an electric powered warmth strip included interior the cooling coil to soften defrost the coil. Their are electric powered controls to function the operation of this defrost cycle. to change the door seal their are screws in simple terms decrease than the rubber that holds the interior door to the outer door, unscrew all do away with inner door . Seal fits between the two . Their is s elementary attempt for this. Take bill and place it between the closed door , attempt sliding around the door seal. If it slides genuine person-friendly without resistance the seal in leaking.

Sounds like the defrost cycle on your unit is not working properly. You need to have a service person take a look at it.

When it frosts up, there should be a time when the unit reverses and melts the frost or ice automatically

I can think of two options:
1) Move the heat pump to a location with lower humidity.
2) Buy a second heat pump to blow hot air on the first one.

Option 2 is a joke.
