he'd get submitted via leg strikes ala cro-cop vs. yoshida, and it would probably happen pretty early

I have seen a few boxers and kick boxers who toke fights when MMA first started that got submitted pretty early. In this day of information technology a stand up fighter can usually learn enough to survive a while especially if he has some good training partners that also know what they are doing. It is much easier to survive a fight especially if you are not actually trying to win it and a guy like him would always be just a punch or two away from changing the outcome of the fight. I think he could last a little longer than what people think and longer than those earlier fighters did-especially if he was not trying to win but just survive and get a punch in but once he was down a good MMA fighter would probably submit or choke him out after a little bit of time and maneuvering.

Floyde is the best boxer of this era so we'll see if he can make the move to MMA. I think if he trains seriously like he does for boxing he could compete. I'm not saying he'd be championship caliber but he'd win fights. If he can keep the fight standing and with his footwork it's possible. His hands would be like lighting with those small gloves. His down fall tho is he's a pretty boy and I don't think he likes contact too much and that would be unavoidable in MMA. He does have the talent to learn tho, that's evident. Most guys that are great at one form of combat have an easier time making the transition into MMA.

That depends on two things:

1) How serious he is about making a true transition to MMA, and

2) If he can land a punch before his opponent can take him down.

Make no mistake, once the fight hits the mat, it's over, and it won't last too long, but if he can learn some decent takedown defense and keep the fight standing up, then he's got a serious chance.

Pretty fast but what if he fought one of these MMA guys without a cage on a grassy field or something. How many jabs would they eat before they gave up because they could'nt grab him?

I think he would back down. Especially if he was in the ring with someone who was fearless about being knocked. If they got through his punches I think it would get pretty ugly. Possibly a broken arm or choked out.
