Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim
Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah
Well, my dh and I are considered to be pretty conservative. He has a beard and I cover wearing abayas and headscarves. We will hold hands when out, he might give me a hug or a peck, that's about it. We laugh and smile a lot and we don't get into that "mom walks ahead shopping while dad trails behind looking bored out of his skull" routine I see a lot of folks doing. If we're standing in a line waiting for something, he'll put his arm around my waist or I'll lean against him. We're in the US and I'm sure anyone watching us would think we're pretty mild. I've seen some people just about procreating in the checkstand at the grocery store. You just want to grab a crowbar and pry them apart, lol....
There is nothing in Islam that says you cannot display affection for your spouse in public, but you should use common sense and not do anything that would be too intimate. And if I'm in the mosque or at a particularly Islamic gathering, I will be a bit more formal.
Fi Aman Allah,

When I went to Morocco to marry my husband, some of the younger couples, even those not married, would sometimes hold hands or she would loop her hand inside his arm. My husband and I held hands and sometimes would also exchange a quick kiss and he would walk with his arm around me. He told me though that he has never seen his parents show the slightest affection for one another in front of him or his siblings. I understood it, but found it sad because I feel it is a way of showing children what a loving relationship marriage is.

i remember that when i went to saudis for umrah there were plenty couples holding hands
