when u see a dvd and it says blu-ray edition wat does that mean?

You should also watch out for HD-DVD boxes. They have a burgandy strip across the top and will not play in a regular DVD player either.

Both Bluray and HD-DVD are for the new high definition DVD players.

They may look like DVDs (same size disk), but they are "Blu-ray disks" -- High definition video disks -- and are not playable on a DVD player. The clue (in addition to the name) is the blue stripe across the top of the box (and the high price).

it means you can play blu ray discs on it which are hd dvds
