Clean with a mild soap and sanitize with iodine or peroxide. Apply antibiotic ointment and cover for eight hours. The tail is very sensative and can easily become infected. Once it scabs over just keep a close eye on it and if it looks like it's getting infected (redness, swelling, or pus) see the vet.

First disinfect the area with some wound wash (every medicine kit has it) or some alcohol (That may sting) and then go to the pharmacy and buy a spray called DEMOPLAX, it works by cauterizing and healing a wound rapidly, also make sure she is not touching or licking the area (dogs can bend at many angles) If you keep applying the spray she should heal withing a couple of days and it will ward off any infection.

What caused the cut/sore?
You should take her to the vet to make sure she doesn't need stitches or antibiotics to prevent an infection.
In the mean time, use Neosporin 3 to 4 times a day. You really should take it to the vet as soon as you can.

Take her to the vet to make sure she doesn't need antibiotics.

For now you can use an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to try to hasten the healing process. You may want to bandage the wound when she goes out so it doesn't get dirty.

I sugest you take it to a local Vet, because if you do something wrong while trying to heal it, you might make his wound worse.
