It depends on the type of pain:
Muscle aches, broken bones, gum pain, tonsils/throat-
At first, take 2-3 advil (depends on how much you weigh, 100-150=2 advil, over 150, three) THEN every 5 hours take one more.
Nerve pain, toothache, headache- 2, then one every 5 hours.
If you're under the age of 20, be carefull with asprin, or headache things with asprin, as they can result in something called Reys Syndrome, basically asprin poisoning.
Try taking something like Naproxem Sodium (aleve) and just follow the instructions on the bottle (I think it's 1-2 every 6 hours or something)
Of course, for some people, Tylenol works best, take two, then if it still hurts 5 hours later, take one more.
Hope this helps!!

When something hurts really bad I take my pain to the Lord and then I have a glass of wine! Or a long talk with an old friend, if I need more I will go to the doctor, I have had two surgeries on my back and need another one, but prayer seems to work better than the drugs. God said he will never give us more than we can take. He challenged me though when my beloved pet died. I know though that my baby is waiting for me at the rainbow bridge and when I die we will cross the bridge and through the gates to heaven together for it would not be heaven without animals! But I heard you should never take more than the recommended amount!

If I have that much pain, I go to my DR. and get a few vicodine. I hate those things but they work. When I blew my knee out last year at this time, that is what they gave me, and they worked pretty good. Advil works but not on extreme pain.Man I hate having that kind of pain.

It is supplied in 800 mg pills, yet your questioning is erroneous. 800 mg can no longer furnish you two times the soreness relief of four hundred mg, or everywhere on the brink of it. Ibuprofen, like numerous different NSAID's, has a "plateau consequence." you need to take the traditional dose, and if that may no longer sufficient, you like not extra of the comparable yet some thing diverse. by utilising the way, the two benzocaine and oil of cloves are reliable topical anesthetics for a toothache.

I would suggest going with the recommended dosage for your age listed on the back of the bottle. I typically 3 (600mg) when I am really sore, though it depends on the pain and what it is coming from.

I think you are running out of questions, but I will answer this any way to show you respect as my contact. I usually, wait it out, I hate taking medicine. When it is real pain, I see a doctor for real meds.
