Gumby: Why assume that I intended to make fun of those with Tourette's Syndrome? Rather, I intended to poke fun at Christian beliefs.

in order for something to be blasphemous there has to be intent on the part of the person. Since Tourettes causing involuntary verbalizations, then that person would not be held responsible for blasphemy.

No, it does not.
Blasphemy must be heartfelt. Does this person truly mean what they say? or who is to say what causes it. When a demon has possesion of you , is it not the demon who does the cursing and not the human.
I know that only if you truly mean hateful/hurtful things and take pleasure in them it is a sin , otherwise no its not.

No --since people with Tourette's syndrome have uncontrollable speech, of course it is not their fault, nor would God hold them responsible.

I don't think that God will hold those with mental illnesses accountable for their "unholy" actions. I even extend this to suicide, for those who are so ill they know not what they do, and are tormented by schitzophrenia or other disease of the mind.

You can't hold someone accountable for something they LEGITIMATELY have no control over. This is much different than the pervert that says he can't control his actions.

I would seriously "God Dammit!!" doubt it. I would think that God would "Jesus Christ!!!" give those who he has afflicted with this "Mary's a Whore!!" disease a break.
