If speaking in tongues is a gift from God, then how come only some people are able to do it? wouldnt he want everyone to be able to speak in the one language that saintan cannot understand?

YahooThoughtPolice- i find your comment very degrading and disrespectful. my superamazing boyfriend has spoken in tongues and he is not dilusional in any way. he is a hardcore Christian and speaks in tongues when he doesnt know the words to a song or what to pray. I've just never heard it because i was praising the Lord and blocking out the rest of the world. please be more respectful. Just because i've never done/heard it doesnt mean that people i care about have.

Yes I think it is a gift from God. The reason he gives it to some is because it is all part of their "calling in life". They play a significant role in the way things play out in the world. They are only select in number, but their message never dies once they leave this world.
