Is this a good camera?

Question

I am really interested in photography,
and am wanting an upgrade on my camera.
I currently have the Kodak P850.
My budget is Under $250.
I want a really nice camera that I could get for that price.
I just bought the Canon S3 IS for under that amount.
Was this a mistake? Is there a better camera I could get for that price?

The camera does not a good photographer make! So it doesn't matter what kind of camera you buy or how much. If you don't have good technique, nothing you use will make any differance. Because, at the end of the day, it still comes down to how you use your camera. For instance, I once took a cheap $3.00 box camera on a photo-safari while in a remote location in Australia, along with some of my more expensive equipment. I was able to munipulate the little box camera to get shots which were just as stunning as the ones I took with my expensive cameras!!!

Bottom line, learn the fundamentals of phototgraphy and then worry about how much and what kind of camera to buy....

i have a canon powershot a630 and it is awesome.

i would recommend the a630. make sure you read the instruction manuals though-they help alot
