Hi! So, I'm trying to use and charge my laptop in the car. On the outlet in the back, it says 12V110W. The only power inverter I can find is a 150W. Will that sap/burn the battery?

(I'm using a Macbook Pro[85W is the normal charger], so the 70-75W inverters cuts off power so often that it is useless)

No it will not cause damage. Infact using the low power one will cause the damage to your notebook because you are not providing the circuit enough power. With the 150W your notebook powersupply will adjust to 110W. What the 150W is the max rating for that adapter, if it is exceeded it will trip like the 75W one you are using is triping. In your case since you only need 85W and 110W is recomended you have more them enough watts to play with. P = I*V

I stay off grid so this answer is according to USE! a million. maximum electric powered skillets, and so on. draw a minimum of 1000 watts. 2. you're able to p.c. a minimum of a 2nd battery of a minimum of 1000 chilly cranking amps, and a fee "splitter" to furnish potential to the inverter, and not run down the autos significant battery. 3. a extensive sufficient inverter will fee over $a hundred and fifty.00 AND require direct wiring; (no "plug ins" to cigarette lighter socket allowed!) 4. in case you have the capacity to blow a fuse interior the inverter, that's not person-friendly, in maximum situations, to alter them. you are able to determine on spending a minimum of $500 to have the skill to apply electric powered home equipment. I advise you purchase the two a gas or propane range and/or techniques to construct a hearth and use "previous fadhioned" pots and pans. that's going to be lots greater fee-effective interior the long-term!! word: i take advantage of PROPANE for cooking!!
