14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.
15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

for clarification fornication is defined as sex outside the covenant of marriage. it can be adultery too, and it can be homosexuality but for this definition fornication means pre-marrital sex.
Sex was created by God for pleasure but the bed is only undefiled in marriage. can someone find the scritpures references? it is not to be abused or the privelege might be taken away.
fornication also has implications with sex-magic, drug rape and sodomy.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years that it is God's will that:
+ Single people should be celibate.
+ Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
+ Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control is against the will of God.
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
The purpose of sex is to bring a husband and wife closer and to create human life.
Fornication, sex between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, is contrary to their human dignity and the dignity of human sexuality.
Adultery is even worse. Anyone who commits adultery
+ Does injury to the sign of the covenant which the marriage bond is
+ Transgresses the rights of the other spouse
+ Undermines the institution of marriage by breaking the contract on which it is based
+ Compromises the welfare of children who need their parents' stable union.

Making an informed decision; you must first acquire information. Good on you that you ask such a good question. You can help others too. Sex is okay, since it was God that told the first human pair to fill the earth. They had to have sex. In a marriage, it's fine, but to pervert sex is wrong to God. God is our creator and wants whats best for us. God gives us guidelines that helps us to have happy relationships and a happy family life. You are safeguarded against things like emotional scars and life threatening diseases that go with fornication. It is God that encourages us to stay away from fornication, not just Christians. (1thess.4:3-8) It all depends on you when you make the choice, do you want a clean conscience or frustration. It is up to you.

It is sin, and God hates sin. Before Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, died on the cross, all the sin of the world was placed on Christ. God left His Son, He couldn't be in the presence sin.
Matthew 27:46 (HCSB, Holman Christian Standard Bible)
At about three in the afternoon Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "ElÃ, ElÃ, lemá sabachtháni? " that is, " My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? "
Fornication is sex outside of a marriage, and adultery is also fornication.

I don't know. The whole thing is silly. You and your lover can be reliious virgins together in christ when you get married, you can have unprotected sex with him because you two are married now and want to have a baby, and then contract HIV from him because he had a blood transfusion before you met and has been unknowingly carrying the virus. If he never had sex before, maybe he did not think to get tested. Now you both got HIV. These 2 didn't fornicate, yet they are both being punished

God doesnt hate fornication. A bunch of miserable old men who have taken medieval vows of chastity hate fornication.
If God hated it so much he would never have made it so much fun
To "tsc1976ers" - Our enjoyment of sex is a natural part of what makes us human. If we weren't designed to enjoy it so much, we wouldnt procreate as much as we do, and there wouldnt be as many of us. You have to remember that as a species we are physically very weak compared with other animals around that are quite prepared to eat us, and it is only with our adult brains that we are able to survive as a species. And as we usually only produce one child at a time over a course of a year - it makes sense that we try to reproduce as many times as possible with multiple partners.
Whether this comes from God or evolution is for another debate - however as the bible was written by men to impose order on other men, there is no doubt in my mind that these anti-fornication "rules" do not come from any divine source

1. Any sex outside of Marraige devalues Marraige.
2.Any sex outside of Marraige is a means by which disease is spread.
3.Marraige is supposed to be until death do you part, based upon that any sex outside of marraige leaves children fatherless.

God's gifts to mankind include the gift of sex.
A gift of God used for one's OWN purpose, rather than His, becomes a curse to us.
God's gift.
God's purpose.
God's creation.
(Otherwise, we are no better than the animals who have no ability to reason.)

when not in the proper context, sex can be very hurtful. Hearts get broken, disease spreads, unwanted pregnancies and so forth. He wants to protect us not hurt us.
