My hubby got me one for Christmas, but as my wedding ring and engagement ring are quite wide, it looks a bit crowded on my wedding finger! Will it have the same effect on the third finger on my right hand instead?

Crapface..... eternity rings are not meant to be given before engagement/marriage, but on a special anniversary/birth etc.

What makes it an eternity ring is the format (set round with stones, so not like a solitaire or a big central stone, I don't think it matters where you wear it - lucky you that he loves you enough to think of it.
My mother in law used to wear hers on her little finger, and because it was an eternity ring, we knew what it was! It looked beautiful.

I took my engagement ring off & just wear my wedding ring & eternity together - my engagement ring is worn on my right hand.

The wedding band should always be on the left hand as I think the blood runs closer to the heart or something along those lines!

If I remember rightly then an eternity ring is a cluster of diamond in a line right? I wear my eternity ring on my right finger (the one next to my little finger) and it looks ok. Its nice he bought you a ring. I used to wear my wedding ring and engagement ring together with a ring on my middle finger. (now divorced!!!) It doesnt matter how many rings you wear, if my partner bought me loads of rings Id wear them because they are from him.

My wedding ring is wide, so is my engagement ring. You get used to it. Mine doesn't look the same if one is missing. My eternity ring is quite thin.

Hi, I was looking for a ring last week and lots of jewellers told me that tradition now isnt as it was.
The right hand is now just as acceptable.

Too much jewelry can be quite gaudy. I would suggest taking off the engagement ring. I was under the impression that most women don't wear theirs after the wedding. It's kinda redundant anyway, isn't it? Maybe you could turn it into a necklace or something?
