Yes, there are many examples of him helping the poor, so I assume that he did and still does.

I think he did. He had compassion and healed the blind and lepers, who were amongst the poorest (because they could not earn a normal living). He encouraged the rich young man to sell all that he had, and give it to the poor. He spoke the parable of Lazarus (the beggar) and the rich man.

I think he may also have had some experience with being poor... or at least in the "middle income" bracket. He was a tradesman.

he defined what defiles a religion!

it is written that undefiled religion takes care of widows and the fatherless.
he also told Peter 3x to Feed his sheep but the third time he said feed his lambs.
there are manymany other characteristics that define what undefiled religion will do.

but ive heard from Glenn Kimbal jesus fed the poor with his own money, the only time feeding the poor became a miracle was when he ran out of money. (something to seriously consider)

it depends on what you mean by help

if you mean giving someone a sandwich (or whatever food is typical of the people around) . . . yes he did some of that (three different times, that we know of, he fed different groups - large groups - into the thousands)

if you mean helping the poor in spirit . . . he did that . . . he provided the only way to the Father (through himself, the 'door')

I'd say yes . . . he did care about helping the poor

Whos to say what jesus seen as poor?
A person without money to buy indulgences and unneccary items of this materialistic world OR someone who is poor in faith or has no faith in jesus or god and will die ( meaning spiritual death) in this short ( in whole picture perspective) life of ours? He wants to make you rich in spiritual ways and help you acheive and get your rewards that await for those in heaven ( who try and trust in him). Jesus was a very loving person more loving that any person in this world would ever be for you ( from our perspective what stranger would just die for you, even if you where cruel to them?). jesus help feed others , cure them of ailments , and guided them through dark times. Then dying from our human sins , so that we all may have achance to be lead to heaven through his great sacrifice.

Tremendously. Like he told a rich guy, "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor,"
