The large majority of people on the Earth would disagree with you. We believe that God is real.

I personally think Atheists are people of great faith.

They believe the entire wonderful universe came into being all by itself from the smallest subatomic particle to the most immense galaxy and from the amazing complexity of the human mind to the love between a mother and child.

I find it much easier to believe that an all powerful and all loving God is behind it all.

"To be an atheist requires an indefinitely greater measure of faith than to receive all the great truths which atheism would deny." (Joseph Addison)

I do not have enough faith to be an Atheist.

With love in Christ.

Don't forget the Jews, the non-Catholic Christians of the world - and all other religions that believe in some manifestation of a Higher Power.

Whether or not a Higher Power exists is not in question. The bast majority of people in the world believe in a Higher Power. While not all people agree on what's the best way to worship this Higher Power, there's no reason to doubt a Higher Power exists.

The Higher Power does not control anyone. The Higher Power grants us free will, so that we may choose to follow the Higher Power. I, among many others, choose to follow the Higher Power, where as you have chosen not to.

Between you and me, if we were to bet whether or not a Higher Power exists, I would win. If I lived my life according to the beliefs and practices of my Faith, and there turned out not to be a Higher Power, I've lost nothing. If there is a Higher Power, and there is, I've only to gain something from living my life according to the beliefs and practices of my Faith.

You stand to gain nothing either way, for now anyway.

Belief in a higher, almighty, omnipresent being takes many of the worries and responsibilities for life's decisions.
That same belief grants redemption for things we feel when we have done wrong rather than having to simply accept we have been stupid and done wrong.

Religion is a fantastic psychological crutch for those who believe, it helps some people but it also causes religious division and results in Wars so maybe it's not all its cracked up to be.

Religion is totally personal, for some it's the most important thing in life. For me it's a psychological crutch but I would not describe those who believe as "Muppet's", they just believe in something I do not believe in.

Uhh this is the stupidest question I've ever read. We don't let a "imaginary being" control our lives. God or Allah are not imaginary, God for the Catholics is the Lord that created us all and gave us life, and we're not muppets. We follow what we believe because it is important to us and we have faith. God Bless

That isn't a question you should a bit kinder because for those people who are Muslims and Catholics will say you are threatening their religion.

And they do it because that's their religion and that's their God, Allah, etc. I mean wouldn't you be threatened if somebody said something like that to your beliefs? I think so, but someone else might not.

the being is not imaginary. after that being said to answer your question would defeat its purpose.

And who would this "imaginary being" be since, obviously Protestant Christians do not believe in this entity?

Actually every religion that believes in a higher being does such, not just Catholicism and Islam.
