There are products that remove hair coloring from tints or dyes. I believe that would be safer than trying to use the double process that you describe. The fewer chemicals you use on your hair, the better. You might also go to a salon and consult with a colorist as to the best method for restoring your natural hair color. Next time you want to color your hair, try the temporary products that gradually wash out. It's much harder to lighten dark hair than to make light hair darker.

Your hair dresser is right. If you were using a permanent hair dye, you will have to let it grow out, In the mean time, use a semi or demi permanent hair dye for your roots. Then just let your color fade when its has grown out the length you want. Keep in mind this will not happen over night. In the mean time conditioner is the key to keeping it looking good. You might try a hair conditioning mask or I like to use Doves 3-minute treatment for colored hair at least once a week.

Out of all the different colors they make one should bring you right back to your natural color. I had my hair lighter, but I let the color grow out and cutting the blonde ends off every 3 months It took about 1 and a half years, but now it is dirty blonde againg but I didn't use any chemicals on it . just something you might try

It will be very hard on your hair. When you lighten hair, you are bleaching it which strips it. I would find a color that is a little lighter than the color in your roots, and dye it that color, then when it grows back, it will look more natural.

Hm, you could always mix a little bleach with your shampoo or conditioner. But you could put blonde highlights in your hair, then put lightener on it and let it grow out for about six months (still get the ends trimmed though).

How long ago did you dye it??? It's not very good for your hair to keep getting dyed.. I would suggest going to the hair salon and having it professionally done.

Well if you're redoing from dark to blond then I honestly think you should get some help with it. Probably a professional hairstylist who'll recommend products that won't ruin your hair.

Just go with your natural hair color dye, then it won't destroy your hair as much as dying it twice.
