University of phoenix is actually one of the most expensive becuase they are a regionally accredited university.
There are so many online colleges I can't tell you which are the most or least expensive but if finances is your primary concern in obtaining your degree look into Kaplan University, Colorodo Technical online, Warren National University, etc.

Least expensive would be taking online classes from your local community college. My local community college, for instance, offers all online courses for a certificate in business.
Community colleges are always the cheapest way to go. I took an online class for about $80. Most other online colleges are private, which means that they don't get taxpayer money and they can charge a lot more.

There is nothing wrong with "attending" an on-line college. There are many people who work full time jobs that are able to attend school this way. I have checked out a number of on-line schools and the price is pretty much the same.

You would need to enter on line colleges in a search engine and then look at the costs./ Do not forget about the various fees that are charged and the cost of the textbooks.

visit: http://www.insightempire.com/Collegecourseonline/ and look through a wide range of solutions, the price is usually a reflection on the quality of teaching you'll be receiving.
Hope that helps.

MIT has open courseware for free. It will not lead to a degree though.
