There is no consensus among atheists on any beliefs, agenda, or goals.
Personally, I am spiritual. I fail to believe in deities or all powerful forces. In fact, I feel the do not exist.
My agenda is education and freedom. If you can have those two while continuing to follow a religion, then I have no problem with you. The goal is to promote freedom for EVERYONE and even ALL religions, while eliminating the ignorance, hatred, and oppression that religion tends to foster. This includes a strong focus on keeping laws secular.
I believe that, should people be truly educated, they will likely drop religion. I don't want to force anything on anyone. I don't think it's necessary with the right knowledge.

I believe that the responsibility for my life is my own alone. I don't necessarily have , want, or need an agenda. I don't have any goals to destroy religion if that's what you mean. I believe that for the majority of people it serves, it serves them well. I realize that as an Atheist most of my views do not fit the stereo type. I just don't believe there is a God in any sense I have heard defined. I haven't figured that out yet. I don't have enough information. My weakness in this area is often used against me and that is fine. As adamant as I am there is no God I am equally as adamant that for many people there definitely is. I hope you feel more informed.
Peace.

I personally have no agenda outside this forum. On here, I suppose my agenda would be open discussion, no more. If I had a worldly agenda, it would be the same, but I don't attend meetings or otherwise engage in any conspiracy type activities.
I personally believe that all human knowledge is greatly subject to error, that includes any ideas of a supreme being, and the best we can do is be methodical and as subjective as possible (if possible) when it comes to gathering information. I highly suspect that any order we perceive (including divine hierarchy) is the result of our interpretations of reality and not necessarily indicative of reality.

The label atheist just means I do not believe in god(s). I don't know as though I have a "goal" toward or concerning religion. I hate the fact that theists in general automatically label me as angry, mean, and a bad person when the reality is that I'm a better person than many of them are. I also do not care for the fact the my lawmakers often try to make laws based on their religious belief systems. I don't want my tax money spent on religious goals either. I don't want science being blocked because it doesn't suit holy books.

I believe in a higher power something higher then myself. I dont' think the bible should be taken literally and i dont attend church. I think its good for some ppl but I am not about organized religion at this point in my life. I read a lot about various things and I am open to different ideas. I love reading buddhist things but I try to live my life the best I can, I try to enjoy it and learn from it and be a nice person. I honestly think ppl should have something to believe in, some sort of faith, cause it's better to be happy then right. So if we are all wrong about there even being God, at least I was happy believing it while I did. But life is so complex and the world around us is too and there is soo much love, there just has to be something higher then overselves out there. Goodluck to you.
Sorry didn't realize you were looking to ask specifically Atheists sorry, I guess this question didn't apply to me at all then. Sorry.

Why should or would atheists have an agenda? It would seem to me that organized religions have an agenda more than atheists. There is no belief or disbelief in atheism.
I attend a Christian church; however, my husband is atheist. He encourages me to go to church even when I don't want to because he knows how important it is to me personally. He has never attempted to sway me to not believing or having faith; he has actually been the greatest supporter of my faith. He has never made me feel stupid about having faith.
Some people, Christian or atheists, are just jerks. And to me, those people, both Christian and atheists, are exactly alike. Being a Christian in name doesn't automatically make someone a good person. AND, being an atheist doesn't make a person incapable of love, compassion and generosity.

I believe the only reason I am here is to help others. My "agenda" is to leave this world a better place because of my presence and actions and to touch all I meet in a positive way.
My goal is to understand all the beliefs and religions, to use what I find helpful and to respect others whose beliefs differ from mine.

Umm...
I think you're mistaking us with theists?
There's no organization, no agenda...
Hell, I don't agree with most of these clowns. I'd personally like to see the world released from religon, but I don't care enough to do anything about it. People can believe whatever they want, as long as it doesn't (negatively) influence my world.
Oh, and the "belief" thing is also a theist thing, atheists don't believe... so it's pretty hard to define what we believe ;)

I simply lack the belief in magic, gods, spirits, angels, demons and other imaginary things.
I really don't have an agenda other than to better myself... although along the way I will try to correct some people when they make outlandish claims which really isn't an agenda so to speak.
