My father has schizophrenia and has always been pretty neurotic. He cant carry a conversation and he has a short fuse with his anger. He's always been very mean to my mom and myself, which made it hard for me to ever get to know much about him. I was wondering if my lack of a relationship with my father has anything to do with why i am attracted to members of the same sex?

I have a good relationship with both of my parents and I am attracted to members of the same sex.
I think I was just born this way.

Possibly, but not likely. There are plenty of lesbians who have great relationships with both parents.
