You should definitely get her checked out. Several people have already pointed out some possible reasons for the weight gain, if that's what it is. If it's more of a swelling around her stomach that's growing rapidly, she could have a urinary blockage. Some of those problems are no big deal, but others are VERY big ones. Only a vet can tell you for sure what's wrong with her.

Ifyour cat is crying when you touch her stomach there is something wrong, especially if she is getting"fatter by the minute". There is obviously pain there and she should see a vet immediately!

If she cries and seems like shes hurt you should get her to the vet imediatly. All kinds of things could be going on. her kidneys could be failing, she could be severly constipated, she couldve drank some antifreeze, her organs could be crystalizing, she might have worms, or her stomach could be inverted.

If her nipples are getting bigger then she might just be pregnant but you should still take her to the vet. Good luck. hope shes fine.

I don't know what you've been feeding her, but it this "came on suddenly" and not over a period of days/weeks, she may have a blockage, and needs to see the vet ASAP. I saw on Animal Planet one time, where someone had given their small dog a bunch of sausage and it "clogged" him up so bad they had to operate! If this has been coming on gradually, you probably need to find out if she's pregnant and ready to deliver. However, if she seems to be in pain, she needs to see the vet ASAP, anyway! Good luck.........

She may be pregnant. If she has never been before and is now she might be hurting. If she is about to have her kittens you can feel them in her stomach if you press all around her stomach.

I know dogs can get intestinal or stomach dystension which is VERY dangerous. You should call your vet or emergency vet and tell them all the symptoms.

You should take her to the vet. It could even be a hernia (I had a cat with one of those). It almost looked like fat too.

She might have a swollen tummy from something she ate that causes her pain or she might be pregnant. Take her to a vet and see what they have to say.
