God tried to create Adam many times, and each time it turned out to be another monkey. At last he created Adam. From then on, he dared not try again. He eventually cloned Eve from the spare rib of Adam. That is why God created only two humans.

Yes

Biblical 'imagery' is an interesting study.

God is often spoken of as being "between the cherubim". There are four cherubim, or "living creatures" before the throne of God. These have the character of a man, an ox, an eagle and a lion.

As the power of God goes forth from his throne in the midst of the four living creatures, man was placed in the "Garden of God" in the midst of the newly formed earth. From that location a river came out and went forth into four directions.

God dwells in the midst of four creatures
Man dwells in the midst of four categories of living creatures (beast of the field, birds of the heavens, fish of the sea and the creeping things).

As God rules his dominion from his four-part throne, man was given dominion over the four-partitioned earth.

You will notice that when man sinned, he was evicted from his place where he was "in the image of God".

No, God is not a monkey.

When man sinned, it was necessary for God to provide animal skins for Adam and his wife. Did the 'skins' they had die like God said they would when he ate the forbidden fruit? Are we now in "monkey skins"? This view has some problems, and I don't hold to it as firmly as I formerly had, but it resolves numerous issues.

When Genesis says God created man in His own image it means that unlike the other animals we are given free will to make choices, for good or ill. Even before mankind ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge we had the ability to discern between Good (obedience to God) and evil (disobedience). This ability to make choices based on morality and, of course our possession of an immortal spirit are the only ways in which man resembles God

No. Being created in His image does not mean being practically simetrical in the vertical axis, having four extremities and one head, being a mammal, opposing thumb, able to walk erect, etc.

It is more related to His character, dignity, integrity, purity, rather than to physical characteristics. Us having a triple-nature (body, soul & spirit), similar to Him as a Trinity.

That God's image in us have been corrupted by sin, it is being restored by Jesus and the Holy Spirit while we grow in the spirit. We (believers in Jesus) are "saints under construction".
