This is likely. It is speculated that this has actually happened in the past.

There are mysterious cave drawings and what not. I'm not sure how much I believe this theory but it's out there all the same.

Depends on what he says and does. Ala Independence Day, probably not...most people, believers and not would probably take up arms against him. On the other hand, if he shows up looking human and performing "miracles" then yep...but again, non-believers will do the same thing.
