You get bad credit by not paying your bills in a timely manner.

While it's probably unlikely that the library will report your unpaid fee to the credit bureau, it would be a good idea to just pay what you own. Sometimes little things come back and bite you on down the road.

How long has the library been after you for the fee?? Is it a lot of money? Just pay them and get rid of it. The only way it will appear on your credit is if the library sends the fee to a collection agency, which seems highly unlikely but you never know these days.

Have you given the Library your social security number???

If not no problem...... you can always get your credit check for free once a year on line. . . that way you can see what your credit score is and who your creditors are. Very important. In case of errors.

You may want to check it out.

good luck

your wife filling out credit card applications with your personal info and then signing your name and then maxing out the accounts without making payments will screw up your credit. i.ll trade you 50k in cc debt for your library fees. deal?

I don't believe so... unless the library reports it. I would imagine it would have to be a large amount for the library to report it.
