I just got some new NASA and Air Force patches from a local store and I was wondering where to put them on my jacket. I know the NASA one is supposed to go above my left chest pocket, but I'm not so sure about the Air Force one. I also got an American flag patch, but I know that it's supposed to go on my left shoulder with the stars facing forward, right?

The Air Force one I have no idea But the American Flag for you should be on the right side stars to the rear. If you were a soldier then the stars would be foreward representing the flag being flown into battle.

you need to no longer placed on it on a protection rigidity base. Off base you could placed on despite you like. this is infrequently a "federal offense". Whoever informed you that has no theory what they're speaking approximately. you're appropriate on the topic of the stolen valor act and the shown fact that it became got here across to be unconstitutional. Regardless it utilized to protection rigidity decorations, no longer rank insignia and patches. and because it became got here across to be unconstitutional now would not observe to something. And this is prohibited to impersonate a regulation enforcement officer. it rather is not any longer unlawful to impersonate protection rigidity workers. Actors in video clips do no longer placed on the uniforms incorrect so as that they don't get charged with impersonating. this is fully ridiculous. generally they placed on them incorrect because of the fact they simply screwed up. some shows/video clips do the uniforms completely. Saving inner maximum Ryan became an occasion. Even the ribbons they wore have been appropriate to the time. Even some previous episodes of Magnum P.I. the place Magnum would placed on his previous military gown uniform, it became suitable. you could walk down the line wearing an entire common's uniform in case you desire to. there is not any longer something unlawful approximately it. i'm no longer saying that this must be carried out, merely that it rather is not any longer unlawful. So wearing some patches and rank on a leather-based jacket this is obviously merely being worn because of the fact which you think of the patches are cool, no longer because of the fact which you're attempting to make it seem such as you're a service member, would needless to say no longer be unlawful. Now on base is a various remember...... individually, i think of the stolen valor act became a super theory and figuring out it became unconstitutional became stupid.
