jack russell smart?

I have a jack russell. He seems very smart, i taught him all sorts of tricks in a matter of a month! but for some reason he hates certain people. when my one friend comes over, he loves her, then another friend came over and he wouldnt stop barking!!! can they sense when someone is bad or what is it

Yes, they can sense a lot of things.

Dogs will know which people like them, which people don't, which people are trying to hide something or take advantage of someone, or is just in general a "bad" person.

They will also pick up feelings from their owners. If you are upset with someone, or trying to hide your true feelings towards someone, the dog will pick that up and react to it.

It may also just be something the second friend was wearing - a particular article of clothing, a hat, a particular perfume - dogs will also react to these.

Your right Jack Russell Terriers are very intelligent. However, sometimes just the scent of a person can set them off. It is not that the person is necessarily bad. The friend he likes might not have any pets. But the friend that makes him bark may have another dog ar cat that your dog can smell. Jack russells are very territorial so it may just be the scent of another animal. Dogs do have good instincts though so be wary of anyone you don't know that he seems to want to bite.

Well, your doggy isn't used to seeing that peculiar face. You should let your dog get used to her smell so she won't bark as much. Sometimes, dogs can get territorial so it's okay!

i do believe that dogs pick up on negative and positive energy.
if someone seems scared i believe that they sense this and take advantage of it.
