Hey, Soldiers who have been in the "sandbox"...

Did you have an experience similar to this? http://www.helium.com/tm/763207/deployed-getting-ready-again

Share your story if you want! I just want to see how true-to-life this is for other deployed Soldiers (obviously it was for me).

Please read the experience before you answer, though! Thanks! :)

"I'm not saying being in Iraq was a picnic - not by any means - but I am saying that it was as comfortable as it possibly could be. At the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom, those poor guys went without so much. They slept outside with the Camel Spiders on the dusty sand; they ate cold meals and drank hot water all the time; they didn't have functional bathroom facilities and they didn't have a personal space to call their own. Compared to what they dealt with, now it looks like a walk in the park."

I was one of the ones she mentioned here. Then later was deployed again and did the same things she did.
She laid down a pretty accurate description on the common day of a deployed soldier.

I never actually went outside the wire, and I'm not going to apologize for that, but I have never been more tired than I was in Iraq.
