At first I wanted to say, "I suppose like any other average man" but I realized that wasn't true.

My husband is better than that, alhumdulilah. Comparing him to an American man (I am American, my husband is not) is like comparing roses to skunk cabbage.

My husband is gentle, extremely generous, funny, cute ;-), loving, an excellent provider, an excellent father. He eats whatever I put on the table and doesn't complain about it lol! He doesn't expect me to work outside the house, though I have worked outside the house and he accepted that also.

mashaAllah, mashaAllah. To me my husband is a sign of Allah's mercy and blessings.

Okay maybe I shouldnt ask this but I am TOO curious. Safi, how can your husband be a 'very religious sheik' and be married to an athiest? This is against Islam.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/CjR6l

My Muslim man treats me like a queen. He lavishes me with love, and tells me how beautiful I am everyday. He is so gentle with me, as well. I could not ask for a more perfect, sweet, and awesome husband. I adore him!!!

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim

Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

I have been married to my husband for almost ten years, mashAllah. I had been Muslim for several years before we met so I knew what I wanted in a husband, and alhamdulillah, he brought the perfect match for me. My husband treats me with love and respect, asks my advice on almost everything (which sometimes drives me nuts, just pick the RED one honey!), and helps me not be just a good wife and mother, but a good woman with my own interests and talents. I didn't want to disappear as an individual when I got married, and with my husband I am blessed many times over.

Why has our marriage succeeded? Because we do our best to live our lives according to the Qur'an and Sunnah, rather than according to the cultures of our two countries. The best Muslim man is a man who is not a slave to culture, and I waited until my early thirties to find this one.

Fi Aman Allah,

Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

I am a Christian married to a Muslim man and although we've only had 3 months together he treated me like a queen. He is the most loving, kind, caring man I have ever known. Before I met him I dated men of different cultures, colors and religions and none of them ever treated me the way my husband does. In the 3 months we were together we had minor disagreements and a few times he made me cry. He was so hurt and ashamed that he caused tears. I know a lot of non-Muslim women think Muslim men are abusive, but that is only because the media only shows the bad things that happen instead of the good, decent men who truly love their wives and would never even consider hurting them.
