Some people gain weight when they first go on the pill, but not usually very much. Maybe 5 pounds. And not everyone does.

I know that many women say this is true but it does not seem to be much weight at all. I would not worry about it, a few pounds to prevent pregnancy is worth it anyways, right?

The pill doesn't "make you fat", though it can cause fluid retention.

Yeah, if you do gain weight, it'll be fluid, not fat.
