Well, I am raising my daughter alone, who's father doesn't even call to see how she is doing, or pay any type of support for her, and I do not recieve any type of assistance from the state, never have and never will. I am going to school full-time and I work at a job that is four dollars less than what I am used to. What you should do is find a sitter for your children and find a job, any job, and take care of your children on your own. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice your pride to make sure that your children have what they need, so do what you need to do in order to take care of your children and make something of yourself.

Ok first of this isn't even conceivable to me. I'm a full time mommy, full-time worker and a wife with financial responsiblities that out number our income most days! However I am going to school full time along with all of this so that in the very near future when I graduate this spring I can work from home doing what I'm good at....Insurance.... I can't imagine not working and taking care of the things my children need!

How do you afford a home if you don't have a job?
There are tons of single mothers out there, but I don't know any w/out a job.
I'm a single mommy and I work my @ss off 40+ hours a week and I'm barely getting by.

1. Get ADFC and food stamps
2. Sign up for medicaid or children first
3. LOOK FOR A JOB
Nothing will inspire your children more than you getting a job or attending school to raise them.

I don't even know how that's possible. How do you afford a home, groceries, medical insurance, utilities, clothing, transportation without a job? If you are able to do it, good for you I guess, I just can't fathom it.
I know lots of single moms who make it without a man, but they work a job (sometimes two).

I would contact your local department of family services, they can help you get daycare assistance, so you can get a job, and then you will be able to provide for your kids.

Have you looked for opportunities to work from home? Can you find affordable daycare that you trust?
There are single parents everywhere who are finding ways to do it.
