I wanted to do something worse than anything I ever wanted to do in my life and that I NEEDED to do! Even for my own life's sake.... God was practically screaming at me to do it, for about 2 or three years, but no matter how hard I tried I could not do it, because of FEAR. I had a very severe anxiety disorder... it was the fear of everything, and really very severe. It was not the run of the mill fear or timidity. Sometimes I still feel like I let God down big time... and let myself down too... even though it is a miracle that I'm even alive today. I still struggle a little bit with fear, but I'm doing lots better since my struggles with cancer. Because if your faced with something like that, all the other fears seem to pale in comparison... although even now I think that having cancer has been a cake walk compared to having the agoraphobia (an anxiety disorder) and having to deal with it on my own like I've had to... but now that I have cancer, people in my family have come around me and some friends too!! Now I'm happy because I feel free of that kind of fear that held me so captive and I am no longer having to struggle with anything without help!! Don't worry if you have a little timidity, that can be worked on so much easier... even if you have to do it on your own. (Although remember, you won't really be alone, you have God). I know even with a little timidity it is easier said than done, but trust in God. Don't trust in the fear or timidity or what is making you timid, just focus your eyes on Him and step out in faith... don't care about anything else or what others think. Only care what God thinks. He will not leave you when others are prone to do so. When you see yourself do what you desire and what He wills, then a whole different world will open up and a ton of that timidity will just melt away into joy!
God be with you and bless you....
and may He grant you peace.

If you think God has told you to do something what you're probably hearing is your own "conscience". Your conscience may or may not be correct. Be sure and check out all angles and ask a lot of questions before you take a step your mind has told you to do.
I'm not saying you are...but there are people out there who have taken drugs and then halucinate and hear voices, and even there are some people on medications who hear voices, or just people who have gotten sick and hear voices, but when they follow those voices they go to jail or get cooped up for a while.
So before you act on anything, check it out with other people, with other adults, with people who you trust their decisions, and find out for sure that what your mind is telling you is a good thing, that it will work, that it's good for you.

it depends on HOW God communicates to a person whether it is truly, verily, God himself.
there are many people who claim to have seen God, but many can be naive to believe an angel is God.
for the biblical proof, remember the angels came LOT in person and in form to deliver the words of God because Abraham argued about saving sodom and gormorah.
God and 2 angels came to abraham and abraham had a dinner prepaired so they can eat and have this discussion. From abrahams camp the angels went to Lots home.
these are the only circumstances i can accept the commandment of God to do something.
IF god tells a person to kill someone, it probably isnt God. in such a case that person should tell God to do it himself.
the bible says there are "many" voices in the earth. but it also says to TEST the spirits to see if they are from God or not.
So, unless a man is experienced and knows both the truly inspired promptings of the spirit of God and God himself, than doing anything on the spur of the moment can lead a person into greater TROUBLE, even in criminal court.
remember the son of sam heard it from a Dog that he must kill people. balim heard it from a donkey, and solomon went to a witch to talk to a prophet. sorceries can also cause False prompting, as it is the #1 source of deceit in the nations. see rev 18:23,24

How does anyone know God actually talks to them and if God talks to one person then God must talk to all people since "God is no respecter of person's"
Following this common sense, so if God talks to all people they sure as hell don't listen or follow very well and obviously haven't in the entire history of earth.
God's teachings consist of loving, respecting, and caring for All people particularly the poor, hungry, homeless and fatherless. Instead what do we as ostensibly "God loving" people; war against each other, take economic advantage of poorer nations for our own gain, allow poverty and inequality to cover the earth, pollute the planet in the name of national financial gain etc etc etc.
Timidity is not the biggest problem humans have, its self-flesh stupidity.

If I have clear undeniable proof that God has commanded something, I try to do it/implement it in my lifestyle. It may take a while to get used to the change, but I believe that after everything God has given us, we should obey Him.
What distracts me, maybe doubt, laziness, -Satan's whispers.

Satan in the one who wants you to doubt Gods word, God makes it very clear on what & how he wants his people to live. If you are reffering to doing something you think is right or a choice or direction God would have you go, well I would think you would feel a sence of peace about what you should do. Maybe it is something you shouldn't be doing.

Sometimes I immediatly obey, and other times, I just outright disobey God. I hate to admit it, but sometimes it depends on if I want to do what He says. Hey, I'm only human.

We all know what the right thing to do is. But very few of us do it. We can call the right thing God and very few of us do it even though we know what it is.
