No. Lying is not ok in a relationship. Honesty is important. And so is communication. What would she have to lie about unless she is doing something she shouldn't be? I would rather know the truth and be hurt than be lead around by lies.

No. If she is lying to save you from being hurt what else is she lying about, sounds like that is just an excuse, tell her you are a big boy and can handle the truth and a good relationship is built on trust if you can not trust what she is telling you what sort of relationship is that?

That is so dysfunctional. Lying can become a habit. It is bad for her to do, bad for her, bad for you. And what do you mean she thinks she'll upset you? Do you go into screaming violent rages? If so, it's your problem, and she ought to dump you immediately. If not, she is trying to justify lying by laying the blame on you. Who needs that? And who needs a relationship where if the truth isn't convenient, a lie will do just fine.

No there is no excuse for lying! My boyfriend tries saying the same thing; that he lies so I won't get hurt but don't belive it. The girlfriend is lying because she doesn't want you knowing and is being selfish by letting you find out on your own or from someone else. Don't they realize the TRUTH always comes out. lol =)

No. It's sweet of her to not want to hurt you. But honesty is the best policy. Lying to not hurt someone could end up hurting them worse when they find out the truth.

what is she lying about? if its that your haircut looks fine, or no you dont look fat in that outfit, then i think a little fib is ok. if its no, i'm not sleeping with that guy, then you have a problem.
but even lots of little lies can turn into big lies. i dated a guy that couldnt tell the truth to save his life. even stupid things like a birth mark on his shoulder... he told everyone that he was shot and it was a "bleeding scar". bs.

No I did that and ruined a great relationship. Honesty is the best policy, if they can't handle the truth then you should not be with them.

you'll never know when she's lying and when she is not.
there's no trust.
she should always be honest even if she thinks the truth will upset him because if she's not he'll most likely eventually get tired of her lies.
