If you Believe that the Soul continues after death ....?

Question

I am curious about the belief that the soul continues even after the death of the human body "vessel". If this is the case, why do I have no memory of my former lives?
Serious answers only please, from those educated in this field. I don't care to hear from those who are only speculating.

Lack of proof does not equal disproof. Many of the athiests posting would do well to understand science at least that much.

Some believe that the body can be immortal and eternal as well. And that our spirits existed before this life, and that this life is an opportunity to gain a body that can eventually be incorruptibly bound to our spirits. Some believe that they live on earth before, others believe that they lived in heaven before. Some claim memory of a former life, others do not. Some claim that faith comes in recognition of Truth that was taught in a past life. The idea that the soul continues forward does not always affect someone's belief that the soul existed before. My personal belief is that if we believe in a true sense of "Eternity" then it must both be eternal backwards as well as forwards. But my belief is not held by all. THe concept that the soul is created and then is eternal only inthe forward sense is a common judeo-christian perspective. There are among the judeo-christian sects a few who teach that we lived before as well. Study. Seek Truth. When you find it, live it.

Satan the devil the father of all lies told the very first lie. He told Eve that she would not die if she ate that forbidden fruit.The soul dies! All this mess about incarnation is foolishness brought on by the devil.

The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered.6 Whatever they did in their lifetime—loving, hating, envying—is all long gone. I will leave you with this last thing Isaiah 8:19 Someone may say to you, "Let's ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do." But shouldn't people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? 20 Look to God's instructions and teachings!

Everyone is speculating on this subject aren't they?

The soul probably doesn't continue on after death, we have no evidence for that whatso ever.

We do know that matter is infinite though, and even though I wont be aware of it, the cells that make up my body, will change and be used to sustain other life, or may even be blown from the top of the atmosphere into space one day.

We are all space dust in the end my friend.

What does the soul continueing after death have to do with past lives??? The soul continues after death but there is no such thing as previous lives. You only get one life.

I keep having the same dream , its been a few years now.
I don’t see how I die but I'm in a bi-level house, many people are walking around confused and chatting with each other, We apparently have a choice, the downs stairs patio doors look down to earth, the upper patio doors look out to the stars, I am caught in a struggle of what to do. Each time I have the dream I get no further in my decision, I am not sick and I don’t do drugs or drink.

As Gandhi said, "it is nature's kindness that we do not remember past (existences). Life would be a burden if we carried such a tremendous load of memories." So we reincarnate forgetting via enzymes released in the brain as we are born (which science is only starting to become aware of). Thus is our human awareness of past lives regulated.

There is no soul. Nothing continues after death. My proof is that there is no proof of a soul.

How can one be 'educated' in this field? It is not something that can be proven therefore there is no education available. It is that we die and what happens afterward is not known to us til we get there. That's why faith is such a big deal.
Not to mention that there is only one physical life and one physical death.

When our souls were born in the preexistance or preearh world, with God being our Eternal Father, we were given the opportunity to come to earth, be given bodies, and have free agency to choose to do good or choose to do bad. Because we could never pay the price completely for our bad choices, Jesus whas chosen from the beginning of time to be our savoir. He died on the cross to pay the ultimate price for each of us to ensure through repentance and a remission of our sins we could return to our Heavenly Father, our Heavenly Mother, and all our friends and family to continue on in our progress joined by both spirit and body in the great resurection. So, why can't you remeber your past? Because your Heavenly Father gave you free agency. If you could remember your spirit past, then you would know to always choose the right path, becaused you would know without a shadow of a doubt who you were, where you came from, and where you want to return. But in order to return, in order to be worthly, we must learn to choose the right by ourselves. Thankfully, God sent his son, great leaders, awesome parents, good friends, and many more messengers to help us choose. We exercise faith in him, faith in the knowledge of a wonderful continuation of the spirit and body, tremendous gratitude for Jesus and faith that he will be our representative to the father and clear us of all our sins and weaknesses and welcome us joyfully into heaven. So, don't worry that you can't see backward, because with the exercise of faith, prayer, and good choices, you will begin to see much better forward and will know with a certainty where you are going. After a long, wonderful life here, you will return to the best family reunion ever!

If the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics is correct, energy cannot be destroyed. You're made up of energy. Everything is. Where we go after death is a matter of what you're willing to believe. Pick your poison.
