If it were, no one it ever happened to is around to tell us about it, so who came back and told him it happened to them? I think your teacher should be ashamed of himself telling children things like that........Many people hit the ground in their dreams and wake up the next morning. If they hit the ground in their dreams and then die in their sleep, they aren't able to tell us about it, as far as we know when we find them they died of a heart attack or something, so how would we know? Where do people get that stuff from? And what kind of teacher is this with nothing better to do than sit around trying to scare children? Most likely this idea came about from people dreaming they were going to hit the ground, and they got so scared it woke them up before they hit, and they speculated on what would happen if they hit the ground, and made assumptions based on their own fears... I have died in my dreams, and I am here to tell you about it.

I don't think so. I've heard that anytime you actually hit the ground in a dream that you've died in real life. The reason is that usually we wake ourselves up before hitting the ground but if you've dead you can't wake up. I don't believe it though, some people just may not be afraid of hitting the ground. Who knows? The next question you should ask people is if they have ever hit the ground in a dream and woke up to still be alive.

I think it is probably VERY VERY unlikely, but, when we dream our brains don't know that we are dreaming. As far as our minds are concerned what we are dreaming is really happening to us at the time. We would act out our dreams if a chemical that our brains make to block the signals from our brains to the rest of the body was not present. That explains sleepwalkers. They are deficient of this chemical and their surroundings integrate into their dreams. That said. If you have a horrifying enough event, say falling off a building for example it is possible to have a heart attack or stroke from the sudden stress of the situation. So, if you have that experience in a dream and since our minds don't know it is a dream, it is possible to die from it. As a matter fact my mother believed that is why a lot of elderly people die in their sleep. She believed a weakened system and lifelike nightmares caused sudden heart attacks and strokes. But like I said VERY VERY unlikely.

It could be true if this is the dream you were having when you died in real life. For instance, if you were in a car accident and were unconcious while they were trying to revive you. You have this dream where you are falling forever, and because the EMT is unsuccessful in reviving you, you hit the ground in your dream and die. Perhaps this is what everyone dreams when they die, only we don't know it because they can't tell us. :)

There is also a rumour that if you dream you are falling off a building and you hit the bottom, you die. Everyone says it's true and that in your dreams, you never hit the bottom.
I can't tell you from personal experience, but I see no reason for this to be true, and I think it's a load of rubbish you shouldn't worry about :):)

Some People are Idiots!! The ideal comes from the theory that if you die in your dreams you die for real because the shock is enough to send you into a Heart attack. The idea that this is possible comes from the unexplainable deaths of otherwise healthy people. Though I have to say this is stupid.

No, not at all...a lot of people believe so, and a lot don't, so this shouldn't be something a teacher talks about in school, since it has never been scientifically proven that if you die in a dream you die in real life. teachers should only tell you the facts, not what they believe. they want to take religion out of schools, but yet they have teachers going on about this kind of nonsense? that's ridiculous. i think you should print this out and give it to your super intendent, and bring a couple other kids from the class who witnessed your teacher saying this, because you need to get people with good judgment and int elegance in your school board.

quite frankly i am afraid, you see i used to work inthe business of dreamers and those who think to hard about the meaning of life or why they are here go in deep mind sucking dreams were they are condemed into being sucked into the 9th world and loss their life simply because their brain can hold such large problems, this usually happes o very very literate and people of the genius type, people who do survive this usually have severe drawbacks and limit exposure to the sun, the refuse to talk and die either by depression, stravation, death or suscide to reduce the chances of this happening oe should move to colder climates like africa and eat only assparagus whip of prunes depeding on favorite color.
anyway if you feel light headed vomiting or diarerea stop medication and call your doctor
if you still feel you are going to die this way take a vacation and stop thinking for a while

Dreams are intrepid differently. It could mean that you are coming a life changing decision and you are going to make the correct decision and before you were going down the right path. I'm not sure if you believe in God if you do pray about it and ask for him to show you.

I've always heard this but I really don't think its true. If you're having a nighmare and have a weak heart in real life, I suppose if you scare yourself enough you could have a heart attack. But I don't think you can die just because you do in a dream.
