Expelled is a movie starring Ben Stein about scientists who share scientific data that suggests the theory of evolution and a naturalistic beginning to the universe is impossible. This has actually been happening a lot, as overwhelming evidence is now pointing away from an atheistic, naturalistic world-view to a theistic world-view.

When the theory of evolution and all other naturalistic explanations for the origins of the universe, life, and mankind swept through the scientific community last century, public opinion staunchly opposed it. But in the last 50 years, public opinion has finally “caught” up.

But ironically, in the past 20 years, the scientific data and information has started to swing 180 degrees...showing that the theory of evolution, among other assumptions, are impossible.

The problem now, though, is that scientists that “speak up” and share such data are getting fired, lose their tenure, are rejected for publication, and are ridiculed and ostracized for even sharing such observational data!

It is actually a little hard to believe.

Here is the trailer for Expelled:

And here is Richard Dawkins quote:
“As a scientist, I am pretty hostile to a rival doctrine”

“Science” is derived from the Latin word scientia, which means “knowledge”, and specifically refers to a system of developing explanations for what we observe in the world. When observations would suggest something that goes against our underlying assumptions, science is not hostile to such data and teaching, but always bends a knee to observational data, rejects explanations that don’t fit, and attempts to develop a new explanation based on observational data.

So, what has happened to science?

You would think that people should be happy to know that we really aren't animals living a meaningless existence. But, some people are just too sick to accept healing.

First, Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Now that is Psalms 14:1 and not what one of the answerers said. The "Richard Dawkins" of this world will create with advanced biology the greatest assortment of monsters that this world has ever seen. These monsters were seen back in Noah's day but God destroyed the world because of their creation by the fallen angels. Today, we have the same evil penetrating society and Dawkins is right about one thing and that is that this evil is a "doctrine" and it is a false religion. Secular humanism and evolution have made every demonic attempt to push God out of America. The devil knows that a nation that forgets God is doomed. The devil has an agenda and his plan is not good for America. May the Lord rebuke Richard Dawkins and all that he stands for.

Apparently you and I live on different planets in alternate universes, because what is actually happening is the exact opposite of what you have stated. The only ones who are becoming more vocal about this ID nonsense are fundamental christians and muslims.

Edit-So I just watched the trailer and while I know Ben Stein is an intelligent man, the video really portrays him as extremely uneducated in the field of science.

No offense, but you make some claims that require more support than just your say-so.

It seems like another variation on the "grand leftist conspiracy" that has gone on and on, but we have yet to see evidence for. And you know the right wing would be producing evidence if any existed.

Better luck next time.

I hope that I'm still open to the possibility of an intelligent design, if valid evidence is presented, but it would be nearly impossible for me to accept some god as the designer; and it would be impossible for sure for me to accept the god of the Bible as the designer.
I trust my sanity to keep me from believing in some invisible, all powerful creature who continually interacts with people, but is too shy to expose himself to them.

"This has actually been happening a lot, as overwhelming evidence is now pointing away from an atheistic, naturalistic world-view to a theistic world-view."

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
*Snif* oh man thanks SO much for the laugh today.
Would you care to post ONE such quote from an actual scientist?
No? Gee, I wonder why?

Edit; "But ironically, in the past 20 years, the scientific data and information has started to swing 180 degrees...showing that the theory of evolution, among other assumptions, are impossible."

Oh man this is comedy GOLD! I'm posting both of these on FSTDT.com (Fundies Say The Darndest Things) and share the laughter. Thanks again!

And as for your so-called "observational data" about creationism. Show me ONE single, solitary example. Trust me, you can't.
And it's clear that your delusions are getting worse. Go back on the meds you were prescribed.

Further edit;
Yep, but when you're leading the horse, make sure you have proof that it's water, and not a poorly drawn crayon-picture of water that you insist is real.
Post ONE credible link about your assertion and I might believe you. But the fact that you haven't speaks VOLUMES about not only your honesty, but your education.

I read your question 3 times to make sure I understood it. I have no problem with you holding unusual points of view but when you start to try to support it with "conspiracy" type theories I become quite concerned. If you came into my psychotherapy office for a consultation I would be alert to underlying presentation issues.

There isn't a single paper that has passed peer review that goes against the idea of common decent. The same can't be said of Newton's Gravity Laws.

Now I know you guys like to say there is evidence, but none of it is even mildly noteworthy. Science gives people the Nobel Prize for overturning big ideas, it doesn't hide.

What has happened to Ben Stein - an intelligent, educated, sophisticated polymath - so that he'll debase himself by making such a film?

why is it that fundies will use any opinion from anyone that supports their position (like a Nixon speech writer, and game show host) but refuse to listen to actual scientists?

yawn...i excitedly await links to your so-called plethora of scientific/observational data....however, the only link i see here is to a movie trailer.
