There was a worldwide flood. However it was not during Noah's time. Noah's flood was over a huge area but was still a fairly regional flood. The target of the flood was the offspring of the Nephilium. The word Nephilium is derived from two words. One is Nepha (spelling ?) meaning fallen, and Elohim (spelling?) meaning angel. These fallen angel seduced earthly women and produced offspring , which are called Gibbers (meaning different). Subsequently the area was full of violence and evil people. That is the reason for the flood. And Noah's ark only needed to be large enough to hold only those people and animals that were indigenous to the area. That way the area could be restored to the way it originally was. EXACTLY WHAT MAINWORRY SAID. MANY EARTH SCIENTISTS BELIEVE THERE IS STRONG EVIDENCE OF A WORLDWIDE FLOOD SOME 20,000 OR 25,000 YEARS AGO.

Many nations and Religions record a great flood.

Generally it is thought to be 9000 years ago.

That would correspond to the great Global Warming that heralded the cataclysmic withdrawal of Ice during the last Ice Age.

Ponding, or stored melt water rushed over the North Sea Basin and around the Continental Coast of Ireland.

The great wave hit Africa and destroyed the dam between Africa and now Spain; this inundated the Mediterranean Valley with the wave not stopping until it dissipated in Russia.

Before that cold mist formed in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere followed by great rains.

The wave would have been felt more in Biblical Lands due to the funnelling effect.

However, any coastal peoples all around the world would have been inundated perhaps by steady increments to 300 feet.

Their tide did not recede.

The Egyptians and Chinese had not formed the Civilisation as we know them historically, however there was a coastal civilisation around the Tropic(s), Zones.

The Mediterranean Basin was also a civilisation, now under water.....Fabled ''Atlantis''?.

I believe there was a worldwide flood about 4400 years ago. What records would you cite showing ongoing civilizations were ongoing? The Chinese and Egyptian cultures also have theories of a worldwide flood occuring at about this same time as do many other cultures.

Why would those cultures be gone if they didn't exist yet?

There is some geologic evidence for a flood that gave rise to Noah's story, though it may have been regional and not worldwide. As for a timeline, you can't take the Biblical time of the flood literally (or much else regarding time in the old testament); it probably happened long before the Chinese and Egyptian civilizations began.

I do.
Two problems with your question...
1) You don't know when the Flood was.
2) Faulty dating methods for ancient civilizations.

The Flood occurred approximately 4,400 years ago. Science shows that the earliest civilizations after the Flood spread out from Turkey shortly after that time. That is also the time and place that animal husbandry and agriculture originated. The Egyptian and Chinese cultures didn't arise until several generations later. The Chinese are descendants of the Sinites (where we get the prefix "Sino'") who were descendants of Shem. The Chinese writing system is one of the oldest in the world, and contains the story of Creation and the Flood in its characters. There are over 250 global Flood legends in cultures of antiquity all over the world, and they all say the same thing - a family of 8 was saved in a boat with a bunch of animals.

Thousands of years from now, one could make an argument for a "worldwide flood" based upon all the local floods around the globe over the past 20 years. Arguments for other cultures' legends of a flood make a very weak case.

There is no evidence whatsoever for a worldwide flood.

Worldwide sea level was higher prior to man's appearance on Earth. Noah's flood does make a nice story. There were also no cavemen when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth.

I believe there was a flood. Was it worldwide? Who can say.

What is important is the symbolism of this flood, a common story among many cultures and civilizations.

I realize that many feel it was a localized flood. No matter. You brought up Chinese and Egyptians; their records, as well as the Aztecs, Hindus and peoples around the world support the belief in world wide flooding.
Just read some history books, and you will see it; read scientific records/books and you will know it for a fact.
