Both!! Looks are great but a wonderful personality will keep the guy or girl around. At the end of the day nobody wants to be with a male/female that looks good in appearance but evil and sadistic in the heart.(at least nobody normal)

Truth is, if they think you're ugly they will stay away from you and go after the pretty ones, even if they think those pretty girls are sl*ts.
However, if they somehow get to know you (like you are working at the same place and they automatically spend time with you) and like your personality, they prefer you instead of hotties even if they still think you're an average looking girl. (as they start to love you, you will look like the most beautiful girl in the world)

Guys go more for looks, but once they realize how horrible the personality is they'll leave. Because looks can only give you so much...
There needs to be a happy medium between the two.

A bad personality can make a beautiful woman less attractive but a good personality doesn't make an ugly woman more attractive.

i think its a combonation of the two. and some people find different types of people attractive. i think my boyfriend is attractive and my roommate does not. i also believe that once you get to know someone, their personality makes or breaks how they look. like if they are cocky stubborn and pig headed then that kind of ruins the looks for me you know...and if they are kind, funny, and ect then i think that kinda boosts the looks up..kinda hard to explain but i really believe that.

I hate to say it, but looks draw us in. And while i'd like to say 'personality keeps us', I know a lot of guys who'll put up with absolute bimbos because they've got breasts....

Why can't we have both? I would never have a relationship with a girl just because she's beautiful (though I would buy her things, go to dinner, and have sex with her) and I would never have an initmate/romantic relationship with a girl just because he had a great personality (though I would talk with her); she would have to have both.
