Now, when you download iTunes you will also get Quicktime. Which isn't a big deal and it is very useful for many websites which use Quicktime to show video. It is a long download, so if you have a slower connection be prepared to wait. There will also be a small download which allows you to resume a disconnected download session. If you wish, you can simply delete that when you are finished.
Your best bet is to download the files to your desktop and run from there. This way, if anything happens to your application you can easily remove it and reinstall. This is the quickest and easiest method of correcting a corrupted program.

*edit* It may appear that without a credit card you can't open an iTunes account. A work-around is to buy a gift card or certificate, and then open an account with it. You do so by clicking on Redeem in the quicklinks on the upper right side, and then it will walk you through the account setup.
