I just realized that I possibly threw out all of my past W-2s, from 2003-2006. I am applying to school and need some of those forms for the FASFA, not to mention I need them for my personal file. Does anyone know where I can get copies of my W-2s?

visit IRS website: www. irs.gov and down load Form 4506-T to request W2 for previous years. You can also request return transcript using this same form and the financial aids office accept this form. The Form 4506-T has a page with fax number to fax your request and usually takes 10-20 days t o receive the trranscript. Takes a little longer to get the w-2 information. OR call 1-800-829-1040 and the information can be sent to you. You can also call the local IRS office in your city and or walk-in and request the information and will be given to you immediately.

To get copies you must go to former employers. The 4506 T is a line item of what you filed on and total income returns etc. In other words on ever line you entered a number that amount will show up there.

Other than year 2007, you can request your income from the IRS but it will not show your state withholding. The best thing to do is to get a duplicate copy from your employer.

You might be able to get them from your former employers. If not, call the IRS and request them.
