The truth is that humans are terrified of anything we don't currently understand and that is why we, as a species, have created the Gods...

Back when man first took breath we were unable to understand ANYTHING that happened around us...

Why did the sun rise and set?
What was the moon?
Why does it rain?
Why is there dought?
Why do the birds migrate?

We just didn't know!

So we dreampt up the "reason" behind everything!

The sun god is in the sky makeing the sun rise and set...
The moon goddes turns her face from the earth every 30 days...

A slaughtered goat will make sure the rain comes when it should or that the winter isn't too harsh...

As we evolved and our understanding of the universe grew we SHOULD have shed such childish notions of god being the reason that baby's are born and that the world keeps on turning...

This whole concept of "my" TRUE God Vs. "your" FAKE God has devolved into feelings of being in a "Special Club" that makes ME special and YOU bad...

"My god is more real then your god! Nanny-Nanny-Foo-Foo!"

It is just the way that small minded people can jusitfy the hardship in their lives and not go completely mad.

It is the only reason that some people can get out of bed in the morning...

"Yeah, my life sucks but it is god's plan for me and my hardship will guarentee my place at his side in the afterlife!"

That is all it is...

It is eaiser to continue ignorance by placing the lable of "God's Will" on something you don't understand then it is to actually sit down and contemplate the theories and evidence behind the most mundain of life's mysteries...

It is sad that so many feel the need to continue sucking at religions teet instead of growing up and moving on to being able to see the cause and effect of REALITY.

I pitty them.

But what I REALLY want to know is what makes the major religions of the past void and "your" religion "right".

MILLIONS of people worshiped Ra and Isis... Egypt was the heart of civilization for a LOT longer then the mear 2000 years that Christ has been worshiped.

The Roman's were quite open that they were stealing all of the Greek's gods and they ruiled most of the western world.

Why is Zuse and Ra "Fake" and Christ "real"?

Where is the "Truth" of blanket statements like "Because I say so"?

The purpose of this life is to lead a life of purpose, to struggle to do one's best to make this world a better place and to develop you talent and character as best you can. Reincarnation of the continuous type keeps one in the reality of this universe, so that it is good to face this reality and get good at meeting it's challenges. God's morality does not support laziness or weak characters. God will treat those well who try hard to contribute positively to this world, no matter what they believe. Truth is hard to find and takes a lot of work, and is often found on a slippery slope between extreme ideologies. The truth has a power and efficiency and will give energy to the person who is closer to it. than others. One has to alway be trying to grow in truth by listening to others and God's inspiration, that will come in many forms.

I don't think anyone has the answer to any of these questions.
Religious people will tell you that our purpose is to worship God, the afterlife is Heaven or Hell and that the Truth is God's truth. That's the easy answer to your question.
I think the only Truth is that we don't know anything for sure! Sometimes I even wonder if my life is an illusion.

Good question. You have to admit there are two things that exist as clear as black and white and that is good and evil. It's a choice, do the right thing or wrong thing, etc...

The point I am making here is, we struggle among those two forces all our lives. They do exist.

There is light in truth and darkness in lies. In the afterlife you will either be in the darkness or the light. But not both. Read stories about near death experiences (NDEs) and all the stories are about entering a dark place or a place of light.

Here is a true story (a short movie) about an atheist who died and came back to tell his experience.

Our purpose here on earth to spread the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is something after this life. Heaven, or Hell. You determine your individual destiny based on your beliefs and actions while on earth. Once your gone there is no changing your mind. Heaven - for all the Christians, those born again , and who believe in God. Hell- is unfortuantley for the unbelievers, and the unsaved. Each of these places is for an eternity. Once your there... you are there to stay. This is the truth.

We were created to worship God . Those who don't are the ones who have no purpose. He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve till they disobeyed Him. All He wants is a relationship with us, now we can have it ,due to the fact that Jesus died for us to make us justified-not perfect- JUSTIFIED.
Yes, there is an afterlife. Jesus was the First Fruits from the dead. Because He arose , SO WILL WE- either to eternal life or eternal damnation
