To jrodri14: Don't you think knowing comes from experience?

When Jesus said truth, he probably didnt mean the concept for truth we use today. He probably used greek Apocalyptus, which is close to revelation.

I dont think it was an absolute relationship between one and a concept (I and religion, me and this computer, you and physics.) It was more along the lines of of an experience, to know more and more perhaps.

I have found that when I read a book, or scripture, and I say "there, thats the answer." I typically find I'm wrong, and that I have much to learn.

The main reason I think is that I have limited my spiritual, religious, or however one would like to call the experience to reading a book. In essence, I may have limited my experience with god to a book. (I constantly take the mistake further and then wait for a miracle.)

But when I take the word as an opportunity to experience god in my life, to have him teach (Revelation), I find myself freed little by little. Truth has set me free.

(The sad thing is that our highly religous culture has limited our experience with god to things like light shows, angels, healing miracles, and tongues. It cant be like sitting with a friend trying to figure something out, or as in a study group, trying to understand a difficult concept, and possibly admitting that no one gets it yet but that thats fine; or perhaps training to run faster or planning for a better semester. That seems far too mundane and common to be miraculous. In reality, no one will probably read this answer this far. It's to long. We all want a miracle answer. Some one to say "!!!!!" and there you have it, we have truth. And that is what I have learned is the wrong interpretation of what Jesus said.

Slavery comes not from not knowing the truth, but from not experiencing the truth and taking the time to spend it with god and trying to understand it and perhaps finding out that one still does not know the truth.)

In response to the question "Don't you think knowing comes from experience?"

...

Clearly.

Are you however asking experience independent of god leads to learning? Because, clearly, yes. or perhaps... well that may be another long answer.

No one is free from worry or suffering, not even the wealthy. I am free in the knowledge that the only one controlling my mind is me. This is because I apply the "Mr. Spock" approach in every aspect of my life. I don't believe in a healing power other than modern medicine. I trust the skill in the Doctor's hands, the knowledge in their head, and the compassion in their heart; not some mysterious God whom I've never seen nor spoken to! I don't allow myself to be led astray by advertising and go buying all kinds of stuff I don't need. I try to be as honest as I possibly can and I always try to treat others as I would want to be treated. In other words; I do not allow myself to be led around by the nose by anyone. I am my own person and I am extremely comfortable as such! I am free in the knowledge that death is simply another part of life and it IS inevitable. Sooner or later, I will die. I accept that fact. I do not look forward to it or wish it to happen but I realize that one day it will. This makes it much easier to cope with death in general and therefore I have never cried at a funeral, though I have attended my Dad's, my Mother's, my Sister's, and just this year, that of a dear friend. Oh; and I don't believe their spirits are flitting around my kitchen watching me type this either! So try the logic approach. See if it doesn't work as well for you. Good Luck!!!

No one is free from suffering. I may be concerned about certain things, but I'm not worried about them. Are you going to claim to know the truth? Jesus said a lot of things. Some made absolutely no sense at all and were a strong indication of a mental disorder now known as paranoid schizophrenia.

The truth does not make us completely free in this life. But it does make us free from the trama of a loved on dieing. I don't wake up with a head ache because I drank all night, so I am free from head aches. I don't wake up in the morning and hear that my neighbors wife is pregnant, and I am the father.

I don't wake up in jail because I stole some one's car. I haven't had an argument with my wife in the 7.5 years we have been married, because we treat each other with respect and care. So I am free from that.

If or when I come forth in the first resurrection, then I also will be free from pain, sorrow, death, etc and live in a perfect society, free from the errors of all the bad people on earth including wars, corrupt politicians, preachers constantly asking for money on TV, etc. If you live the Truth, then you will experience this ultimate freedom

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”—JOHN 8:32.

“WHAT is truth?” When Pilate asked this question, his interest, such as it was, appeared to refer to truth in general. Jesus, on the other hand, had just said: “For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.” (John 18:37, 38) Unlike Pilate, Jesus used the definite article and said “the truth.” He was referring to divine truth.

For instance...Knowledge of the resurrection hope coupled with knowledge of the One who is the source of that provision can comfort you. Jesus promised: “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) That includes emancipating us from the fear of death. Jehovah is the only one who can actually change the process of aging and death and grant us eternal life.

The word of God as expressed in the Bible is the truth that can bring freedom from superstition and false worship. The Bible contains the truth about Jesus Christ, which leads people to put faith in him and opens the way to a bright hope for the future. It is a splendid thing to come to know the truth of God’s Word!

Put it in God's hands, then get up and take actions with the knowledge that God is at your side.

There will always be suffering and worrying. So constantly pondering about suffering and worrying isn't going to help you. It is not wise to let suffering and worrying rule your life. Let it go and learn to see the light amidst the darkness in your life. See the light with the help of God or the help of a self help book. Either way you do it, just see the light.

How would you know you if you were free if you did not worry about freedom?

p.s; No one is free from suffering, as pain is life's teacher.

Your final lesson will come about at the end of your life.

When you tell a lie. You have to worry " What if someone found out" and then you start telling more lies. And start thinking more about lies than what you would really want to do.

And you are free from the burden of sin
