My room is painted pale lilac and i have a cream carpet. i was wondering what colour furniture people think would go best. i want all matching furniture and im not sure. I think white might be nice or too much pale stuff and i need a contrasting dark wood. pleaseee helpp :D thankuu

Buy a mid tone wood furniture. A bed, dresser with mirror, chest or armoire, and desk would be great, and you can re-use the pieces in a different home later.
Try to get a comfy reading/studying chair, too!

Blue furniture would enrich up the feel and can be tied in with you choice of wood stains. Depending on the color shade, it could also make your room feel bigger by "bringing the outdoors in". Be careful with too dark caving the room in.

It is all a matter of PERSONAL taste. What you like, others may or may not. Same applies in reverse. There is never any WRONG combination, if you like it. Some like western and some rock and roll.
